Resident birds of western Caspian lowland

Gara T Mustafayev, Shafiga M Jafarova

The change of environmentrnover the past 100 years and its impact on the resident birds in the West of thernCaspian Lowland are considered. Unlimited deforestation, draining of lakes andrnmarshes, developing arid and semiarid lands for settlements, non-stop grazingrnin large numbers are among the factors that have changed the entire ecosystem, rnincluding populations of birds. It is not accidental that the so-calledrn"sedentary birds" do not actually exhibit a sedentary lifestyle, andrnmany species have populations with 2 - 4 different types of stay at the samernplace and at different times of the year.
