A trial was conducted from July 2015 to February 2016, to see the storage losses of lac under different storage condition. The losses of lac were assessed under different storage structure maintained by different categories of lac traders. All the lac samples collected from August 2015 to February 2016 were weighed in March 2016 to assess the weight loss. The lac sample collected in August 2015 had the highest weight loss. In the present study the mean monthly storage loss (%) of lac sample per 50 g stored lac samples was highest (31.87%) in Kuchcha storage structures (S3) in lac samples of November 2015 and was lowest (8.26% ) in Pucca storage structure (S1) in lac samples of December 2015. Among the lac traders the mean monthly storage loss (%) of lac sample per 50 g stored lac sample was highest (19.12%) in Small lac traders (T3) in lac samples of August 2015 and was lowest (10.97%) in Big traders (T1) in lac samples of December 2015.
