Field trials were conducted at R.C.A., Udaipur during 2016 and 2017 to evaluate the bioefficacy of Dinotefuran 20% SG at different dosages for the management of major sucking insect pests of brinjal (Solanum melongena Guen.). The standard insecticides viz., Imidacloprid 17.8% SL @ 22.5 g a.i. /ha, Diafenthiuron 50 WP @ 300 g a.i. /ha and Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 50 g a.i. /ha were used for comparison. Overall, the field trials revealed that, dinotefuran 20% SG @ 30 g a.i/ha provided cross-spectrum control of insect pests as it registered highest mean reduction of whitefly (85.50%), jassids (90.87%), thrips (86.92%) and aphids (85.48%) during 2016. Whereas the standard insecticides, Imidacloprid 17.8% SL @ 22.5 g a.i. /ha was found most effective in the mean reduction of sucking pests and the same trend was noticed during kharif 2017.
