A field experiment was conducted during rabi, 2016-17 to evaluate the efficacy of ten insecticides for the control of Yellow Stem Borer (YSB), Scirpophaga incertules (Walker) in rice variety Samba mashuri, BPT-5204. All the treatments were found significantly effective in reducing the infestation of YSB and increasing the yield compared with control. The insecticide Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC @ 0.3 mL/L was found more superior in controlling YSB infestaion with lowest percentage of Dead Hearts (DH) and white Ear Heads (WEH) and gives more yield and the insecticide cartap hydrochloride 50 SP @ 2 g/L shows least effective.
