The study was conducted to evaluate the uterine involution in normal healthy postpartum cows and metritis affected postpartum cows by ultrasonography. Six healthy and six metritis affected postpartum cows were utilized for the present study. Ultrasonographic evaluation of uterine involution will be measured on day 5, 10 and 15 postpartum in both healthy and metritis affected cows. Cervical diameter, thickness of cervical wall, diameter and thickness of gravid horn, diameter of middle uterine artery and length and width of the caruncle will be measured and compared between normal and metritis affected cows. The cervical wall thickness, middle uterine artery diameter and uterine horn diameter were similar in both the groups and faster rate of uterine involution was recorded in healthy postpartum cows when compared to the metritis affected cows.
