The field experiments were carried out for two years to know the effect of different growing media and plant density on the yield, benefit: cost ratio and incidence of fruit borer on capsicum cv Orobelle in the mid hills of Himachal Pradesh. The data of both the years on the effect of growing media and spacing showed that among the different growing media M4 comprising of Soil +Coco peat + Vermicompost + FYM (2:1:0.5:0.5) gave positive effect on yield attributes, economics and incidence of fruit borer which was at par with M3 comprising of Soil +Coco peat + Vermicompost (2:1:1), All the attributes were better or at par when the plants were spaced at the wider plant spacing (45 x 60 cm). Therefore it can be inferred that incorporation of Cocopeat, Vermicompost, and FYM led to the better soil properties and nutrient supply to plants, whereas appropriate crop spacing created suitable micro environment for proper plant competition.
