Efficacy of selected insecticides against chilli thrips, Scirtothrips dorsalis (Hood) on chilli, Capsicum annum Linnaeus

The present investigation was conducted to study "Efficacy of selected insecticides against chilli thrips Scirtothrips dorsalis (Hood) on chilli, Capsicum annum Linnaeus " during kharif 2019 at central Research field, Sam Higginbottom university of Agriculture, Technology and sciences, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh (India).Comparing the efficiency of spinosad (treatment) with selected six treatments against Scirtothrips dorsalis ie, (T1) Imidacloprid 0.05ml/lt, Acetamipride 0.05 ml/lt (T2), Acephate 0.75 g/lt (T3), Thiacloprid 0.05 ml/lt (T4), Spinosad 0.15ml/lt (T5), Pymetrozine 0.2l/lt (T6), Emamectin benzoate 0.4g/lt (T7).On the basis of mean percentage reduction over control in thrips population, the treatment T5 Spinosad (91.41%) proved to be most effective treatments followed by Imidacloprid 0.05 ml/lt (87.62%), Pymetrozine 0.2 ml/lt (83.98%), Emamectin benzoate 0.4g/lt (80.59%), Acetamiprid 0.05g/lt (70.62%) and Acephate 0.75 g/lt (62.67%).
