With taking all aseptic precautions under general anaesthesia ovariohysterectomy was performed and removed uterus with 2 1/2 liters blood tinched pus with uneventful recovery. It was concluded that in closed pyometra cases ovariohysterectomy was the best choice of treatment rather than medicinal treatment in old age bitches.
