Spodoptera litura is the major pest on vegetable amaranth. A laboratory study was conducted in evaluation of bio-efficacy of a new generation insecticides against S. litura. The New generation insecticides such as chlorantraniliprole - 0.006%, novaluron - 0.015%, flubendiamide - 0.0096%, spinosad - 0.015%, emamectin benzoate - 0.002%, indoxacarb - 0.015%, thiacloprid - 0.036%, and fipronil - 0.01%, botanicals such as NSK 5 ml L-1 and oxuron 5 ml L-1, microbial insecticide such as Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki were evaluated. Based on laboratory evaluation in leaf disc method emamectin benzoate, fipronil, flubendiamide and indoxacarb were found effective and were evaluated infield condition with malathion 0.1% as insecticide check. In both laboratory and field experiments flubendiamide has shown higher mortality, less population and less infestation respectively.
