A preliminary survey on dental fluorosis in six villages of Sagamkunta gram panchayat, Raichur, Karnataka, India

Dental fluorosis is a condition caused by excessive fluoride intake during tooth development, leading to changes in the appearance of tooth enamel. This article explores the prevalence, etiology, and prevention strategies of dental fluorosis, emphasizing its public health implications. By examining various case studies and current research, the paper provides insights into effective intervention and management approaches. The findings aim to contribute to a better understanding of the condition and inform future research directions. Hence dental fluorosis survey was conducted in sagamkunta gram panchayat of 6 villages which were Ibrahimdoddi, Korvihal, Korthakunda, Mamadadoddi, Sagamkunta and yergunta a survey was conducted for children of age 6 to 13 years. A total of 872 children were examined for dental fluorosis. Of which 428 are males and 444 are females. 109 children were affected by dental fluorosis in that 62 are males and 47 are females.
