In tropical and subtropical countries of the world, Callosobruchus maculatus (F.) is a crucial pest of pulses. After the harvest, pulse beetles in storage cause qualitative and quantitative worsening of legumes. For oviposition deterrent activity KU-338 and IC-7845 are found highly resistant, and resistant while 4/19, KU-20, K-66 and NP-24 were resistant. Germplasm UH86-16 was susceptible for adult emergence. For development of C. maculatus germplasm KU-338 showed resistant. Germplasm KU-338 and IC-7845 also highly resistant and resistant for suitability index (S.I) having 0.000 and 0.0278 values respectively. The collected germplasm seeds were oval, spherical, flat or round in shape. The shape of the seeds seems to play no role towards oviposition by C. maculatus adults.
